APEX specifically helps organizations in three ways through:
1.) Performance Excellence Training for Organizations:
APEX provides organizations with training on the Baldrige Performance Excellence Framework, training on the Baldrige Criteria, benchmark data for use in performance improvement, and consulting for leaders that are interested in beginning the Baldrige journey.
2.) Performance Excellence Training for Individuals:
One of the finest sources of leadership training in Alaska is available through the APEX examiner training program. New examiners learn the Baldrige Criteria and Framework and then are trained to evaluate other organizations. In this program, examiners learn about all aspects of a successful organization. This information is beneficial to use within their own organization to help improve performance.
3.) Recognition of Organizations for Outstanding Performance:
Participating organizations receive objective, comprehensive feedback from trained examiners that can be used to identify areas for organizational improvement. APEX is tailored to the unique requirements of organizations in Alaska and participation is open to all sectors, regardless of size: manufacturing, service, education, health care and nonprofits. Different award levels are offered to help participants improve their performance, depending on the needs of the organization. Each level is progressively more challenging, resulting in more comprehensive feedback. The APEX fee structure allows for participation by both small and large organizations. An annual recognition ceremony celebrates world-class performance.
