About APEX

APEX was created with funding from the University of Alaska Foundation and was initially part of the Alaska Small Business Development Center in Anchorage. In 2011, the University allowed APEX to form as a private, nonprofit organization under the oversight of the APEX Foundation. APEX is based upon the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program www.nist.gov/baldrige and designed to provide specific measurable criteria in the areas of Leadership, Strategic Planning, Customer and Market Focus, Analysis and Integration, Workforce Focus, Operations Management and Results. The criteria provide an integrated management framework, embracing the leading edge of validated management practices.
